The UP rising

I have been feeling down for the last couple of days before I saw my aunt. Its been months since I last saw her, and being away from New York city, four walls is exactly what I need right now. A weekend in Connecticut, Friday to Monday away from my boyfriend of a year and two months and the real world. When I arrived at the station, my Washington Mutual card had stopped working, so when I tried to buy a ticket for the Metro North, I was denied. My train was right there, so I did what any nice girl would do, run to the train and hope that the ticket guy would let me stay. I told him my sad sappy story, he said he would bill me later and to sit next to where he operates. I sat next to a guy who had a Coors light in his briefcase and sat there pretending to hear what he was saying. I asked questions about the last bit and pieces that I caught. He finally got off, and I noticed the ticket guy. I was wondering about him, considering the fact that I haven't paid for the trip; I guess you can say I was nervous. We chatted a bit, he told me a little about what he does on the train. I thought he had very nice baby blue eyes, but I wouldn't tell him that. Before we hit Stamford, he asked if I had a boyfriend among other questions about Miami, and school. I thought it was just to make conversation, until he said boyfriends were over-rated. I probably gave him that impression, he later gave me his phone number and told me I was beautiful. He stuttered a bit which made me question his motives, pretty sad, he's old enough to have a family, I think he told me he had a wife. I finally got my chase card to work, by calling up customer service and still having time to buy a ticket, and get to the train. I call my best friend Ivon and told her what happen. The deeper I was going into New Haven the more Caucasian people I was seeing, and thats something I was not use to. I was getting stares from guys from left to right and felt awkward Are they looking at me because they think I'm attractive, or because I'm different. I waited for over half an hour before my aunts came to pick me up. Needless to say I had a blast, spend so much money, and ate.... A LOT
